Questions
Is MedsPocket a government app?
No. MedsPocket is an independent app. Seniors log in on Medicare.gov and approve sharing their own claims with MedsPocket through Medicare’s Blue Button program. MedsPocket never sees their Medicare password.
What does my insurance agent see in MedsPocket?
Only what you choose to share: your medicine list, the doctors who prescribe them, and your current plan, so the agent can check next year’s plans for you. Sharing is off until you turn it on, and you can stop it at any time.
Does MedsPocket work with Medicare Advantage plans?
Yes for medicines. If you have Part D drug coverage, through a Medicare Advantage plan or a separate drug plan, your prescription fills come through. Doctor visits and hospital claims come through for people on Original Medicare, including those with a Medigap policy.
How long does connecting MedsPocket to Medicare take?
About two minutes if you already have a Medicare.gov, Login.gov, ID.me or CLEAR login. If not, your agent can walk you through creating one. The connection lasts about 13 months, then Medicare asks you to renew it.
